The Tower of London - more Gentle Walks

 by Jeannette Briggs

A favourite walk for many people is alongside the River Thames near the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.  You can see so many famous landmarks along this little walk.

Further along you can see magnificent views of London Bridge particularly at night when it is illuminated in red.

The River Thames is full of surprises and a walk along the river here lets you see things which are very unusual - boats constantly passing and children playing on the beach which is exposed when the tide goes out... people "mudlarking", or looking for objects in the mud and sand, like clay pipes and Roman coins.  Best of all the views here of the City skyline are sensational and well worth seeing.

Nearest Tube stations:  Monument, Tower Hill and London Bridge.
